R.I.P. Alex Chilton. The songwriter/musician died of a heart attack aged only 59 in New Orleans on Thursday. He was a teen vocalist for the Box Tops, whose hit "The Letter" is absolutely brill, but was probably best known for his work with Big Star, one of my all-time favorite bands.
So this news makes me really sad. Check this.
