Events Roundup: Lovely Day for a ...

Happy Saint Patrick's Day, y'all. Let's take some time to celebrate the nation that brought us Guiness, Bailey's, long impenetrable novels and a curious accent. For lack of any truly magnificent St. Patty's events in Prague, observe the holiday by being extra nice to the Irish boys and girls in your life or, if there aren't any, have a Guiness. Or...

Go Green:
-I personally don't understand the green beer on St. Patty's day thing, but if you're a fan, you can go get some at the Czech Inn at 8 p.m. (Francouská 76) when the hostel/kavarna will be holding its annual St. Patrick's day bash. Music by the French Ticklers. Uuuum...

-The Globe (Pštrossová 6) is serious 'bout its love for the Irish and is holding an all day party featuring such goodies as 25 Kč Gambrinus. Stars at 12 p.m.

The Arts:
-Check out the Tiffin University's exhibit curated by the lovely professor Natalia Vasquez at 5 p.m. at im Řimská 20. Ken Nash will perform at 5:30 p.m., followed by Selena Ism and Peter Boyce le Couteur.

Music:
-I very warmly recommend that you go to Jazz Dock tonight at 7 p.m. My lovely singing teacher Vladimíra Krčková, who some have dubbed the Czech Republic's next jazz princess, is singing there. The venue is beautiful, all shiny and glassy by the river, and it's only 90 kč to get in.

Poetry:
-A night of literature at Krasný Ztráty( Náprstková 10) organized by the magazine Psí Víno, with Australian poet Louis Armand along with Ondřej Holubec and others. Starts at 7 p.m.
