News Roundup: Nice.... eyes.

-Is it just me or does the minister of environment, Jan Dusík, look like he is groping a woman's breasts and having unspeakable thoughts in this picture? He got into a row with the prime minister, Jan Fischer, about the coal plant over in Pruněrov and resigned when he didn't get his way. Boohoo.

-I don't care if the recent arson attack against the Roma family in Ostrava was racially motivated or not, but senator Liana Janáčková needs to shut her trap. She reckons that the Roma family were just looking for evidence to support that they are being discriminated against to help their emigration to Canada or England. So they just prayed and prayed for someone to throw a Molotov cocktail in their daughter's room? Don't think so.

-In related news, there's an article on a group of Roma attacking guests of a local pub for no reason. I don't think that's all so newsworthy (I mean, it's just a fight at some local pub, who gives a shit?) and wonder if deník would bother reporting on such non-news if the perpetrators were regular Czechs causing a fuss?

-The family of a Vietnamese man from Brno who died after a police investigation last year has received a really large sum of money (200 million kč) and rightly so, is my two cents.

-Did you know that women wear necklaces to draw attention to their breasts?

  1. nice...roundup!

if only Jan Dusik had Karel Schwarzenberg's head, i'd probably want the image on some kind of souvenir mug.

pub fights are front page news in my mental newspaper. in fact, there's a douple-page spread of the action. i think a spontaneous attack on innocent guests at a bar is perhaps newsworthy, just as it was newsworthy when a Sri Lankan guy was attacked outside a nightclub. doncha think? ;-)

i certainly did know that women wear necklaces to draw attention to their breasts. i know the whole god dang script.

cool website! it's witty and refreshing. keep up the good work. it deserves to be an enormous success.

got nothin' but love for ya.
