MAKE: Becherovka on the up and up!

Yes! It finally happened! Becherovka is now going to be an acceptable gift for friends and family back home. According to a random blog, and confirmed by two people I know, it appears that our beloved Bechy is becoming trendy in the U.S.

A friend-of-a-friend in D.C. writes about the "classic winter flavor" of Becherovka, a "Czech clove liquor." This is a much more elegant description than I've ever heard. I'm used to: "GAH! ACK! WHAT THE %&@! IS THAT?! CHRISTMAS TREE FIREWATER?!?!!!"

Apparently if you add really expensive scotch and make it foamy with egg whites, Becherovka becomes trendy, delicious and unfortunately more expensive. Anyway, if you're feeling flush it might be interesting to try another Becherovka cocktail besides a Beton (Don't even pretend like you don't know what that is):

Not-as-classy drink recipes made with Becherovka that I cannot recommend, including the unfortunately named B-Ocean.
